Former Spurs striker Darren Bent has backed Arsenal forward Gabriel Martinelli to rediscover his form after a slow start to the season.
The Brazilian has impressed as the Gunners battle Manchester City for the Premier League title, particularly in the 2020/21 campaign, where he scored 15 goals, but has struggled for form this term and the start of this campaign.
After scoring in his last two games before the international break, Bent has backed Martinelli to show his quality once again when league action returns this weekend.
“That’s the biggest thing – confidence – in football,” Bent told Ufabet SPORT. “It doesn’t matter where you play, what level you play at, if you don’t have confidence your performances will drop.”
“And when he scored 15 goals (in 2022/23), he did a great job, but can you do that again? Because to score and assist like that in two consecutive seasons is difficult.”
“He’s trying to come back, but you can see the confidence ยูฟ่าเบท coming back little by little. I think he’ll be in great form by Christmas.”
“His confidence will return to form, his goals and assists will return and he will be the same Martinelli.”
Martinelli will look to continue his recent upturn when Arsenal travel to Bournemouth following the international break.
